Emanuel Hosperger

Životopis

A painter of marine and seaside themes as well as mountainous sceneries, Emanuel Hosperger, was born on 21st March 1891 in Prague. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under professor Bruckner. His work was strongly influenced by painting of Beneš Knüpfe (1908). He worked as a clerk in the Accident Insurance Company in Prague. Hosperger held independent exhibitions in Prague (1929, 1934) and Pilsen (1929). For his marine paintings, he was awarded the main prize of the jury in the Istrian town of Opatija in 1936. His life and work came to an end in 1984.
