
Vojtech Farkaš was born on March 22, 1953 in Rožňava. He studied at the Secondary School of Industrial Design in Bratislava under the supervision of Professor L. Korkoš. He continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava under the supervision of Professor J. Kulich. While studying under Ludwik Korkoš he mastered the decorative rhythm of the sculpturally conquered shape, in Ján Kulich's specialty he achieved mastery in the plastic modelling approach. His favourite sculptural medium is metal combined with stone. He has exhibited his work in various places around the world: Moscow, Toronto, Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Ferrara and others. He has repeatedly participated in several sculpture symposia, including the legendary event Sculpture of Piešťany Parks. He lives in Bratislava and devotes himself to chamber and monumental sculpture, for which he has received many awards.
