Antal Neogrády was born on the 8th of June 1861 in Galsa and died on 19th December 1942 in Alag. He studied at the School of Decorative Drawing in Budapest (professor Greguss) and at the Academy of Fine Arts v Munich. After 1888, he participated in the leading Budapest exhibitions (where he presented mainly his watercolours influenced primarily by the English school of watercolour painting). In 1893 – 1931 he worked as the professor of watercolour painting at the University of Fine Arts in Budapest. He even cooperated with New York Times, which published his watercolour paintings. His iconography focuses on landscapes, rural and urban genres as well as hunting themes. He had important anthology exhibitions in Budapest (1904) and Arad (1908).
