Životopis

Gyula Zorkóczy was born in 1873 in Nagyrőce and died in 1932 in Budapest. He studied at the private drawing school of Bertalán Székely. Later, he worked as a teacher of drawing and creative arts. After 1917, he participated in several-year exhibitions in Műcsarnok and Nemzeti Salon, where he displayed mainly his relatively naturalistic landscapes attempting for a certain compromise between the academizing verism and impressionist stimuli of the fin-de-siecle period.
