Heinrich Schwabe was born in October 1847 in Wiesbaden and died in 1924. He was a well-known German architect and sculptor and also had influence on plastic design of figural porcelain. Under leadership of professor August von Kremling, Schwabe studied sculpture at the University of Applied Arts in Nuremberg. Between 1875 and 1907 he was employed by the same school as a pedagogue. His best-known pieces of work include the bust of sculptor Paula Koch from 1886, placed in the Nuremberg cemetery. Schwabe also authored the memorial of Kaiser Wilhelm in Erlangen, which was unveiled in 1897 in the Kaiser Wilhelm square. He also created cabinet sculptures themed with official representative portraits or busts. Bibliography: Collective of authors: Künstlerlexikon Thieme – Becker, vol. 30, page 349.
